I have a HP desktop. today, when it was turned on, all fans are working,
including fans with CPU, video card and power supplier, but black screen,
indicated no signal. I changed a video card, it is the same. any one know
what happened. it worked well last night, but could not start today.

I think the first thing you should try is to change a monitor, not a video
card.

thanks for your reply, I replaced the monitor, but it did not work either.
the monitor can work with other computer too, so it is not the monitor
problem. it is very strange, if it is the motherboard, the fans should not
work.

some advice:
Firstly check whether computer starts or not. How do you connect to the
internet? If you use a router, check it there. Sometimes the pci-e slot dies
and thus no video output but the computer actually starts fine.
If the computer doesn't start, try removing all memory sticks. Insert one at
a time, try all possible ram slots to see whether you can post or not.
Good luck!

thanks, I will do this soon when I get a new power supply, but the power
indicator is lighted, and all fans are working,so I have difficulty to
figure it out.

I guess your computer is more than 2 years old.

启动的时候有嘀嘀...的响声吗？如果有，仔细听听是什么声音，然后可以查查error
code.

You are right, it is more than 4 years old, it is Pavilion m7580n. it should
be retired. I just wondering what's the problem. I am trying to get a
better one.

估计是主板上电容坏了。症状和我以前自己装的一台 core 2 duo E4500 一样。
我后来去ebay买了几个电容，费了不少劲，换了，好了。
主要是焊下来太费力了。
