BOSTON, Massachusetts (AP) -- In an effort to make the citizenship
exam more meaningful, the federal government said Monday it will test an
exam that relies less on trivia and more on an applicants' grasp of
American democracy.
The new exam will be given to volunteers beginning this winter in
Albany, New York; Boston, Massachusetts; Charleston, South Carolina;
Denver, Colorado; El Paso, Texas; Kansas City, Missouri; Miami, Florida;
San Antonio, Texas; Tucson, Arizona; and Yakima, Washington.
