讯作者文章12篇（含N子刊+PNAS,加起来影响因子过百）
Teaching教本科生大课，目前两次评估都在4.6/5，系平均3.9/5
系里面有合作者建议和系主任商量能否early promotion，明年交材料……但看系主任
很保守……开不了口,版上有朋友有建议吗？目前学校一般，也有人劝move...
绝无BSO，确实想知道Early Promotion的大概行情……thanks

更新二：从昨天接到Email到现在心情真的很复杂，感觉过去的十年就像老天给自己开了一个天大的玩笑，所以这个玩笑也在玩笑的日子里画上了句号。想到了自己从天上人间到乡间小路的变化，而当初的死党们现在不是“资产过亿”就是“锒铛入狱”，不知道自己是得到的多，还是失去的更多，感觉这张小卡片就像一张魔咒。。。，好吧人生开始了一个新的阶段，没有了所谓的借口，希望再过十年不要再想今天一样觉得一无所有。
更新一：刚才给USCIS打了电话确认了。包子已经倾囊而出了。祝大家好运!

如果系主任太保守，可以先跟P&T Committee的chair谈谈。如果由他来和系主任提会比
较好。
行情的话，我和你条件差不多，但领域不同，只提前了一年。三年就上tenure还是很少
见很牛的。

人家二年半干了你四年的活。:)
不知道你们是怎么算的。我们如果上tenure的话，需要在前一年结束的四月份提出申请
，系里通过。九月份的时候材料系里投票。十一月份学院投票。如果学院通过，来年四
月份教务长会发新祝贺（一般教务长很少拒）。如果没通过，一月份就通知不过让你找
工作了。不过会一直雇你到来年四月（暑假学校不出钱，你有钱可以雇自己到来年八月
）。
我是第三年的四月份中期review的时候提出来early tenure的。拿到的时候是第四年的
四月份。他的情况和我应该一样，算是提前两年。其实没三年上tenure那么夸张。
不过他比我当年牛多了。

I suggest you to discuss EP case with your chair as soon as possible, to
prepare for submission of your package in the summer 2015.
You obviously are very strong, and the chair knows. You should prepare a
good reason for EP, besides the facts of paper, teaching and grant.
One example of good reasons is that you have an offer elsewhere, or
something like your family needs. WIth a good reason, the chair can help you
, if he or she wants to help, convince the college committee.

看学校的faculty manual把
我门最金否掉一个提前的case, 但是他要是愿意，下来这些年他可以每年都替身请。

为什么呢? 这是个情商问题.
因为你光说我tenure funding and paper 够了, 但学院always可以用service或
teaching不够来找茬..Nobody likes to hear that you think that you are too
good for a position.
for example, the college can say that you need to show three years of
consistent teaching performance…or serve on a such committee experience...
一句话打回去.. You lose a year.
A common used sentence in college committee is that the candidate's
performance is exceptional in the first three years, but the committee would
like to see a consistent and continued performance and suggest the
candidate to wait for another year (4 years is still considered EP).
何况LZ的R01 是个co-PI. 很多universities都要discount 一下. You do not want
the committee to specify that you need to get an RO1 (PI) before you submit
the package (which can put a lot of danger in your case since you are no
longer considered new investigator)
Remember, getting all the papers, funding and teaching are the requirements
for tenure, but not sufficient to go early unless you have a good argument.
As a candidate, you need to convince the chair that this is a critical
moment for you to get promoted earlier…..

一般都这样，没有说早上被否就只能走人的.
另外楼主学校只是一般，做的又好,那就直说,有啥不好意思么？落后分子云老师都是直
接找系主任，系主任问我为啥要早上一年?我说我拿不到T我老婆要和我离婚，系主任说
这个我不管,不过你的情况我大概知道，早上一年也无所谓．．．于是这事情就这么定
下来了.

啊啊, onlyone 说的真好。我系头就是这么把我赶回来的,要persistent performance.
我现在两年了, 和楼主情况差一些, 但是在非常烂校。如果不走人,明年我还是想申请评
天牛, 2016年批。我们家那位已经有天牛的说, 学校太烂了, 有funding 多半没事。
等春天如果我狗屎运气来了,拿到别的好学校offer,再加上撞个nature series/pnas 啥
的, 能要求学校立马给个2015 accelerated 天牛嘛? (三年拿到天牛,而非四年?).另外
, 拿到别的学校offer 会不会 backfire? 我有 twobody problem...一家走不了我又
拿不到天牛我就惨了。

Depending on how close and popular you are in the department, your reasons
can be as simple as
1) my wife will file a divorce if I do not try …. (for real, especially you
have two body problem)
2) I need a substantial salary increase to get a house (for marriage/kids/
good school)
or as difficult as
I have an offer from a big bull school
