It may be hard to bring the child here after you get green card. I heard
from friend that it is hard for the kid to get the B visa to visit you and
there are special requirements for you to apply green card for the kid. It
will be easier if you are a citizen. Better check with a lawyer before you
start the process.

The kid's visa can be an issue if you cannot live together with him/her for
an extended period of time before applying.
