因为有h1b, 所以也没有注意,才发现老的ead 上个月底过期了,可以继续申请renewal
, 还是重新申请新的,貌似没有区别吧?还有我的h1b也是这个月底到期,学校在帮我
renewal,但是还没有拿到,这个对ead 有影响吗?

不是,我的是h1b extension, 只要file上去就可以了。EAD 是递了485以后的。

u sure, h1b到期就失效了,不能工作了.你file上去也不能工作
h1b可没有grace period,失效就要离境,除非立刻转换到其他身份

It also takes time to extend current H1b, but as long as you file the
extension before the current expiration date, according to my school's
lawyer, you could still work for the current employer for 240 days.

he I-9 verification requirement?
The situation here is analogous to the 240-day grace period of 8 C.F.R. sect
ion 274A.12(b)(20), which authorizes employment with the same employer for u
p to 240 days after an extension petition is filed. In both circumstances, t
he employment is authorized but there is no provision on the I-9 form for th
e documentation of this fact. Thus, employers may want to follow whatever do
cumentation procedures they use for the 240-day grace period.
you are right, then lz is fine now.
regarding ead, i still think lz doesn't need it until he want to use it inst
ead of h1, then his status changes to aos with a lot of consequences.

谢谢大家的解释,我之前申请过EAD,就是想有可能的话换industry的工作,因为一直
用academic的h1b,就从来也没有用过。就想要是有就做个back up 而已。 刚问过学校
了,他们上个月底就把 h1b extension file了,应该没有啥问题了。

换工作能保住绿卡申请吗?不能保住的话,不能用ead.
