我的中国护照下个月到期，去领事馆更换，被告知由于我几年前去加拿大landing，有
枫叶卡，所以必须先去加拿大领事馆办一个放弃程序，然后中国领事馆才能更换新护照
。有没有人知道这是什么回事？我这些年一直都在美国学习工作，不知领事馆是不是
在刁难我？

I also have had a same problem with you. They asked me to go to Canadian
embassy to give up the card. I said even I have the card, I still am a
chinese. Why I have to do that. It is unfair and not peace. I also told them
they should study the policy and law. Finally I just worote a state that I
am chinese, not canadian....

（注：从网上得知）附上一个LINK, 见下。按说明提交申请后，会从加拿大领馆得到一
个证明，然后交给中国使馆就可以了。若哪位有同样的问题，如法炮制吧。

请问楼上二位，你们是到哪个中领馆办护照更新被要求做这个的？是纽约领馆么？谢谢

楼上二位就不能回答一下你们在哪个领事馆碰到这种事么？
