背景：
1.社科专业，公立大学Assisant Professor。
2.Publications很少(<5),所以每次来这个版看到大家的pub record都很绝望。引用也
很少(<40),我们专业的期刊IF也很低。所以有3封推荐信特意强调了我们专业的低
publication rate, citation rate, and IF.
3.无媒体报道，有一个会议论文奖。
4.审稿很少，一个期刊和7-8个会议。
5.曾经是一个Association的board member,不敢claim,只是顺带提了一下。
6.推荐信10封，包括博士导师和系主任。4封国外。一封工业界。
本来不敢PP,但是学校律师坚持，并且直接找系里开了PP费用的支票，我也就服从了。
反正自己不掏腰包，何乐不为。

我觉得我通过的最主要原因有两个:运气和律师。
我们是学校in-house的律师，专门给国际老师办工作签证和绿卡。由于是免费的律师，
我以为所有的材料都要DIY，她只是组织一下。结果后来我发现我给她的原始材料全部
被她discard.她根据我提供的信息重新到网上搜索，彩打，组织,包装。她把最后整理
好的材料给我review的时候说，她以前所有的140 case从来没有被RFE过，但是我是她
的第一个社科case,所以她格外用心，但是她认为RFE的几率很低。在这里逛久了，我当
然没有律师那么自信。
后来律师给我说，我整个的package是学校付费，学校支持，学校出面申请，甚至是从
学校邮寄出去的。作为公立大学的Assistant Professor,几乎不会有太大的硬伤。所以
不管是社科还是理工，如果是学校支持EB1b,愿意走PP就大胆走PP,不要过于担心。
最后还是给社科申请者打气，不要怕EB1b,强调自己专业的特殊性和对美国社会发展的
贡献，还是一样有竞争力！！
同时多攒人品，关键时候还是会带来好运。

电话骚扰，她也不介意，一聊就是几十分钟。后来改推荐信，她有一次花了1个多星期
才给修改了5封，还发信道歉，说比较忙，耽误了我的进度。
她也一直是我的心理医生。我的背景弱，这个也不敢那也不敢，她就一直鼓励。她说如
果我的case要是没有胜算的话，她根本就不会initiate this process。
我们学校只支持EB1b,要不我早就走Eb2了。本来还耿耿于怀，现在还是很感谢学校和律
师。

另外补充一点关于PP,以前也有一个社科PP很快通过的case:

我们学校的律师也是偏爱PP。她说处理PP的人员经验大多丰富，而且对不同专业有不同
要求，知道以专业区分contribution。所以鼓励社科申请者大胆走PP，当然材料一定要
