I assume if 485 is approved, I can work in any area.
The question is for concurrent file 140 and 485 with 140 PP.Suppose I get
EAD card from 485 application, and my 140 is approved. Before 485 is
approved, can I use the EAD card in a different area? Is this legal?

Eb1a貌似没有要继续在同一领域工作这一条吧 NIW有规定

I believe for employment based green card petition, you need to work in the
same/similar field as identified in your 140 petition before you get the
green card. However, you can also use EAD to find a second job in a
different area, I think.
However, once EAD is used, your status changes to AOS, which has been
advised by many people as not a wise thing to do.
