Thanks. What is the benefit to apply for EAD cards? One of us holds H1B and
the other holds F1. Is it necessarily to apply EAD card just in case the
green card may be approved later than when the F1 graduate?

it contains AP which allows you to travel;
Although it is unlikely, but if your h1b has any trouble you can work for
another company right away with EAD.
