引用有两百多，竟然一个独立推荐信也要不来。。。
有人用我的方法合成原料做进一步研究；也有人好几步都用了我的方法。
用我的成果的时候信手拈来，要你帮忙的时候有各种托词。
TMD，别引用我的文章，也别用我的方法！
Dear Dr. XXX,
This is XXX from University of XXX. I am currently working as a PostDoctoral
researcher at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The purpose of
writing this email is to ask for your independent recommendation letter for
my permanent residency application. I am writing to you because of your well
-known expertise in the area of chemistry.
My major work through professional experience is XXX and XXX. I am happy to
know that my publication was cited by your paper (paper XXXX). The attached
CV and research summary as PDF files will provide you a more detailed review
about my background. I am applying for green card since my working visa is
only temporary. I plan to apply for my permanent residency through EB1
Extraordinary Ability (EB1A). EB1A has very stringent criterions. The
evaluations on my research work from a top expert in my field are the key
evidences of my achievement. You are the best person who understands my work
and holds a well-known academic reputation. Could you please write a
recommendation letter to U.S. immigration officer for me?
If you are willing to help me out with this process by signing a supporting
letter, I will notify my attorney to compose a draft for your review, which
may save some of your time. However, I know you are exceedingly busy and any
time at all is a burden, which is why I hate to trouble you with this
request, and will completely understand if you decline. Thank you in
advance for your help.

我也刚开始要，你向多少个人要了？没有说明言辞有所夸大，只是为了移民申请的，不
会用来做其他用途？
是不是draft里写的渲染的太大了，给推荐人吓到了？

多发信，会有的。另外，不管别人同不同意，一定要附上你详细的简历。根据我的经验
，附上简历成功的机率大多了。附上简历还有一个好处，别人未见得认识你，但是，有
时候看到你是某个人的学生，会写的。我的其中一个推荐人就是看了我的简历后说得到
过我老板的帮助，所以，愿意写。

就是发发牢骚，呵呵，非常感谢！也感谢PM 给我安慰的TX，不一一回复了，谢谢！
有一个教授对我的文章进行了全面评价，发表在SYNFACTS，我想这应该对我的工作非常
熟悉了吧？结果人家回信说：我刚写了两个，现在不想写了。。。签个名要死啊！
好吧，我把我的模板发在1楼，大家帮我看看错在哪里？

I think you should not give them a choice to decline, as you wrote:
"However, I know you are exceedingly busy and any
time at all is a burden, which is why I hate to trouble you with this
request, and will completely understand if you decline. "
You should mention" I will appreciate much if you could help....."

attach your CV. Try to cut the email shorter, they may not be patient enough
to read such a long message...

你能不能找到什么有拐弯抹角的关系的推荐人呢，就是不直接认识，但是间接有些关系
的，这种一般都挺痛快地。我们的推荐信一个星期都写回来了。如果一点关系都没有，
只能多问些人了。

也有这么一个：加拿大的，有合作，但是合作的文章还没有发表，我信心满满地把他当
作独立推荐人——结果人家不会信。我RP也太差了吧？
倒是原来联系postdoc时有一个老板很nice，一天就给签回来了，当时是热泪盈眶啊。
