I have an approved O-1 visa , 140 and AP. I plan to go back to China for a
month. I know my O-1 visa will be invalidated if I come back using AP. But
the lawyer said it will also impact the 485 application. Here is the word:

The O-1 visa is not a dual intent visa (which allows you to have the intent
to work in the US on a temporary visa and also file a green card). Because
of this, O-1 visa holders are not really supposed to have the intent to stay
in the US indefinitely. By having a green card filed, you have shown you
intend to stay in the US.
If you travel the O-1 will go away and the I-485 will be impacted as they
will find that you have not maintained status.
