401k 不能买I bond吧？而且I bond 能到5%吗？

Money market fund. In good years, it can return 5%.
In bad years, at least you won't lose principal.
No investment can guarantee 5% return, even though
it looks modest.

TIAA的traditional fund，保证每年至少5％左右，但也只有这么多，不会很高，而且
不能随便取出来或者换别的fund。

I don't know if there is restriction on buying I bond with 401k money.
However, I don't think there is a restriction about that. Also, I savings
bonds have some tax benefit themselves and have an annual cap. Therefore, it
might not be a good idea to put 2 tax shelters together to reduce the size
of the shelter.
