Oh great, now we are gonna have 493 different JVM forks, on top of the
323487 linux distros, that our apps will have to deal with.

Why should I care? I am a server guy now. And in case I have to deliever
desktop app, I'd always ship jre too.

I was just being sarcastic - man, you would think it was pretty obvious with
that tag... ;-)
Open sourcing Java is probably a good thing in general. With JCP in place,
and the effort to actually fork something so complex, I don't really think
different implementations are going to be a big problem.

That's just a part of the library source for your reference only, not
including the internals (mostly are in com.sun.* packages).
Now they are talking about ALL sources, including JVM, com.sun.* etc. I
guess JVM source are be in c++.

Guys, open source and source code for download/review are
two different things. Java source code are always available for download.
Open source means you can include it, modify it and redistribute it, all
depends
on the license Sun puts on.

JVM's source code was available a few years ago. It has both C and C++ code
