Biggest PAAS player, Salesforce, uses Java as their main language.
Biggest SAAS deployment in the cloud, Netflix, uses Java as their main
language.
I think cloud technologies also drive the NoSQL DBs, with Casandra taking
the lead, a pure Java DB. Hadoop is the most popular framework for big data
processing, again, written in Java.
Cloud computing makes Java an easy choice. Linux dominates there. .Net doesn
't run on Linux. The most well known tools are already written in Java.
Enough said.

The fact is, other than c c++, java is still a good programming language for
implementing infrastructures.

For cloud application development, certainly java is widely used. For cloud
infrastructure development, c/c++ Is still used. If you look at Oracle's
cloud, you will know. My question is if J2ee is used in cloud application/
infrastructure development.

check google app engine, salesforce's force.com out
they are all java based.
