I want to make xx k a year or xx an hour. Can you afford it?
If HR replies with yes/reasonable, then you say "OK. Deal!!!"
If HR replies with no, then you can say "OK. I am pretty negotiable." (kind
of like "zhuang sun zi")

give them a salary range, they will probably offer you somewhere in the
middle if it's not too unrealistic.
or you can tell them your minimum salary requirement, they will probably
offer you more than that.
anyway, you have to be practical, not asking for too much comparing to
average.

先从同事或网页上取得个大概，再和你心中理想的工资比较取个中间值。
回答时建议 "upper 60's" or "mid 70's"。 HR自己心里也有盘算。
