B visa 可以给你额外3个月或者6个月的时间来找工作～ 就是转来转去会比较折腾。。
还有就是跟你现在雇主讲讲能不能推迟他们报告uscis的时间？

why not try to find a school and get a F1 visa. My friend has two master's
degrees in the USA and his I-40 got approval. He found a community college
and filed the application of changing status from H1B to F1 after three
weeks of layoff. His case was approved in about one and a half months.
