I don't think so. SAS itself has revenue of close to 3B, more than twice of Synopsys. The whole EDA is a 4B market and it is very confined to how the semiconductor industry is doing. SAS has many more customers and their software is more evolved. EDA has so few customers that there are many customer specific hacks in their software full of bugs. If you want to do general software, EDA is really not the place to learn from. If you want to dig deep into EDA itself, then fine, go ahead and join Synopsys and learn about timing, routing, etc. depending on the product you are working on.
