One question: what would be a good starting date so that I could get my H1b
transferred before I start? Does anyone know usually how long the visa team
need to get you transferred?

May I ask how many years working experience do you have?
BTW, for H1B transfer, if it is premium, and assume there is no delay in the
preparing for it, you should be able to get it completed within 1 month.
