1) They work for their boss, if their boss prefer you, they will show their
preference on you publicly.
2) They utilize you as a resource. That said they could assign any job to
you without asking your opinion and it will be pretty random. If you ace
them, you will get more.
Note: it may or may not be related to your performance.
3) They do everything professional on you.
4) They will manipulate the hiring process so that more ind managers and
engineers can get hired.
Note: they are not blocking just you, they have enough power to block anyone.
5) They work as a group and will not CC you for some important info. They
don't share info. Usually, they don't ask you for personal info too. Pretty
like you are living in a vacuum if you have too many ind colleagues.
The good: they are smart, work hard (some of them), professional.
The bad: exclude others, but not majority (most likely, the majority also
exclude them)
So, frankly speaking, there is no harm to have an ind manager. It is just
that Chinese engineers/managers are so weak on those soft and 'hard' skills.
