Just returned from a trip to China. AP/EAD combo card + passport are what
you need to enter into the USA. Dont overstress yourself about loading up on
other documents, and stop worrying about xiao hei wu. The customs officer
didnt ask any question. As long as you have a valid AP/EAD card, you are
good to go!
one reminder--parolees are required to fill out paper I94 card. So pls
remember to complete the form at the airport. Airlines no longer provide I94
form cos they have gone electronic EXCEPT FOR PAROLEEs.
one thing though--I was held for about 30 minutes in Shanghai when going
through the customs service there. The Chinese officer wasn't familiar with
the combo card. Several officers did some checking--luckily it turned out
okey!

从EWR入关的？你能不能从那个系统上打印一个I94，看看和入关的时候让你手工填的
I94是不是一个号码？
很奇怪，我5月末从EWR如果，和你一样要求手工填个I94；
但是我LD6月1号从Philly入关，在校黑屋根本没要求填I94。
看来各地规定还不一样。

JFK, not EWR. I have no idea why parolees need to complete the paper I94.
Maybe this is just a temporary policy. But filling the form is easy and not
big deal.
For Parolees, better check with customs officers at the airport. If you are
not sure about something, always feel free to ask. Customs officers are very
nice and they are there to help.
One more thing--dont be nervous or wary. we have the combo card which is an
OFFICIAL and LEGAL document for entrance into the USA. I used to be stressed
out before my China trip when I read some posts here saying that you need
to bring this and that. Some even suggested applying for a h1B reentry visa.
Seriously combo card and passport will seal the deal.
If you are really really worried, you can bring the official copy of the
letter showing that your I485 application has been received.
Good luck to those, like me, who are still waiting for the green card.

一烙印同事去年赶上大潮，AP卡捂了一年才用，所带的文件不亚于H1b:
所有140 485 131 765的receipt或approval。
所有H1b approval
n张工资单
去年w2
公司HR写的兹证明某某在此工作的一封信
我问他到底用了什么，答曰AP卡和护照。Secondary Inspection一句问题没问。
