Job title is: Manager, Software Engineering
This is a manager position in a established mid-size company.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities:
As a technical leader, who will mentor a team of software engineers,
support engineering objectives and strategies.
Practice Agile in management strategies, especially in terms of
responding to changes quickly.
Lead a team of developers in providing solutions for both new
development and maintenance projects. Building enterprise service bus,
orchestration using advanced queuing system.
Implement projects and allocate resources in response to new development
and maintenance requests.
Provide applications and integration solutions include both 3rd party
software and internally developed applications.
Provides required documentation and participates in architecture reviews
to ensure that the solutions comply with standards and use approved
technologies.
Works closely with the portal development team and other teams to
complete new or existing applications.
Supervise direct reporting staff according to company policy and set
goals and objectives
Monitor and assist staff with work progress, performance related issues.
Evaluate current business processes and systems
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Required Skills and Experience:
Hands on experience on queuing system using AMQP standard such as
RabbitMQ.
Have a strong understanding of orchestration and application integration.
Experience with enterprise service bus and business process extension
language (BPEL)
Strong Java programming skills. 7+ years in Java development experience
3+ years as a manager of software engineering
3+ years as a lead developer
Excellent communication and writing skills
Information Management with good planning and organizing
With sense of urgency and enjoys taking responsibilities.
Excellent understanding and use of SOAP/RESTful webservices.
Hands-on programming experience on a Linux/Unix-type OS.
Excellent understanding of OO concepts.
Solid understanding of revision control basics.
Strong communication and organization skill.
Gathering and writing functional specification documents.
Experience creating SQL stored procedures/functions.
Implementation of Java middleware. 5+ years as a software developer in
an N-tier software development environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Have experience working with BMC Integrate and Orchestrate products is a
plus
Experience with OpenStack Swift and Nova is a plus
Experience with JBoss, JPA/JDO, MYSQL, JDBC.
Motivational skills
9+ years as a software developer
Good understanding of UNIX command line operations.
Maintenance of production code and unit tests.
BS or higher degree in MIS, CS, or related degree
Experience with customer facing and engineer facing documentation.
