Troy is better on academy but is FREE.However, too many nerdy over there and
is very competitive. On the contrary, HW is more diversified and less
homework, that's why my coli's most talented kids selected the later.

Consider the prices of houses which are in good school area...You need to
pay $800K for a 3-bed house in Arcadia, South Pasadena, or San Marino, when
you can buy one about $500K in other area.
So, if it was me, would buy a nice house in bad school area but good
resident area, then use the extra $300K to send kids to private schools

that makes sense to some extend. but have you taken the long term
appreciation in account?
$300k seems to too much for private school, whose tuition (day) is around $
25k. but maybe in 10 yrs, it might just double or triple. :)

Many San Marino/Arcadia residents send their kids to private school 2.At
this point, it is still the affordability issue. But, some of the kids go
to the public school because they can not get the admission of private
school! (The private schools have very hard admission exam)

If they cannot get to private school, why do you bother to worry about their
school??
The people live in San Marino/Arcadia send their kids to private school 2,
because they are rich people or the top middle class...if you can only
afford one of both, so choose one...if you can afford none of both, don't
worry about it...

I knew less about private school until I noticed many of my colis send their
kids to private school (even from kindergarten) and knew a little bit
private school system' processing. (Before I just only know which school
district is good)

这些钱很多都不是父母出的，而是非常有钱的袓父母出的。
这些人的钱不用完，死后要交大笔的ESTATE TAX，而出钱给小孩的费用是不用交GIFT
TAX的，所以当然去最好的私立学校，从PRIMARY SCHOOL到高中，如果袓父母能DONATE
几千万的给名校，上个名校也不是问题。
一般人家里有3-4个小孩的，哪有这种实力。
这些人的钱不用完，死后要交大笔的ESTATE TAX，而出钱给小孩的费用是不用交GIFT
TAX的，所以当然去最好的私立学校，从PRIMARY SCHOOL到高中，如果袓父母能DONATE

这种做法的前提是你要有现金800K，买500K的房子，存下300K给小孩做教育基金。
贷款买房的人，就算你买小点的，能省多少头款？
现实是有这么多现金的人一定会买1M的房子，因为他们的生活圈的人都这样的。

真没钱够聪明也行，可以申请FA. 最怕是又没钱又不够申请的资格。顺便赞一下我同事
的牛孩子：12岁就自学了微积分。

通常那些私人住宿学校很多是住在偏僻地方的医生小孩在念的 市区里可以住好的学区
