this seems to be solid wood, cheap wood though. you have to ask the sales
for more details of the construction. you need hear the word "solid
hardwood".
the maker Bernhardt is middle to low level though. they had many complaints
recently as they moved their line in China. I hate to say that "made in
china" is low quality. but when the furniture makers moved their
manufacture to China, they are not looking for skilled labor (although China
has), but cheap and less skilled labor. the trend in the furniture market
is using inferior material and cheap labor to make furniture only "looks
good", combined with heavy marketing.
where can you buy solid wood furniture? there are still furniture stores
have good quality furniture. you need background knowledge and eyes to tell
the value of the furniture (topic is too broad to cover here). but try some
small local dealers, they may have good quality stuff.
