Um, this is Atlanta. I know it sounds cold, but the moment you involve
yourself, you become a suspect, and a target of insurance companies. My car
was fine, so was the one behind me, we both looked, gave a thumbs up, and
went on our way. If they really need my testimony, they can see the license
place in the video.

I have provided video before, and I have stopped to make sure people are ok.
I too live in Atlanta and drive in the city. You can check on people and
the state's Good Samaritan laws protect you.
Only way they can draw you in is with a subpoena and they usually only do
that in cases of sever injury for life or death.
Any other concerns are just paranoia.

A suspect and a target? That’s meaningless paranoia and doesn’t make any
sense. What DOES make sense is you’re on an active interstate and it would
be completely unsafe for you to exit your vehicle, even to check on the
safety of others. First step of first aid is to make sure the area is secure.
The appropriate thing to do in this situation is call 911 and inform them of
the accident, then let the dispatcher know that you have footage but you
don’t feel safe getting out of the car and you can’t find a safe place to
wait. You make this call before you leave the scene. You give the dispatcher
your contact information and the officer can follow up if necessary. If
they tell you to stay - then stay. It’s a burden we share; if you were
involved in an accident and a witness had helpful footage you would want
them to stay.
If you’re not willing to take those steps then keep this video to yourself
instead of whoring it out on reddit for likes. And don’t pretend like
posting it here is helping anyone involved.
