After careful calculations, I think it is
worth it to buy up all the possible numbers
and still make a couple hundred millions.
But my wife wouldn't let me do it.

virtually I just bought all except one number, but too many numbers, I can't
find out which one I missed and i can't afford to buy another round.

Ain't gonna work, the lump sum,(ie the present value) is only roughly 370
million, take between 35-50% off depending on which state you live in, that
yields you roughly 180-250 million, the chance of you hitting it is around 1
in 180 million. You can only break even or 40% gain at best, if,(and a big
IF) no one else hit the jackpot. You also need to hire someone to work out
the number and hire someone to buy them, there is always the risk they miss
a number or what not. You may need to rent a place to hide the ticket, then
of course you exposed your ticket to fire, flood and earthquake risk.

在某些国家，比如中国，你可以包买数字组合，只用打印一张彩票，只需几秒钟就能办到

payout ratio比你想象的高.现在利率低,所以cash value能到jackpot的72%(目前是4.
62亿).联邦税率是35%,多数州不收lottery的州税.最后能到手3亿.
另外其他的小奖能有10%左右的回报
当然这次肯定不止一个人中奖.至少3个,一人税后1亿.

oops, 我搞错了，我以为headline #是540mill, 原来提到640咯。
尽管如此，还是没搞头，太多uncertainty啦。
但是其实多数州都收state lotter tax, 5-10%不等，加上federal tax 要40-45% 不等。

现在jackpot越大,回报率越低,因为跟你分jackpot的人会更多
不过这次各州政府是赚了.彩票利润大约30%(大约跟jackpot的cash value相当),都是给
政府了.如果中奖那位还要交州税,那个州就赚翻了.
