pinkmartini is probably a lawyer.
My guess is the current number of Chinese IP lawyers should be in the
hundreds. Suppose the number of years is 10 since first Chinese PhD/JD went
into market, and suppose more than 10 and less than 50 a year(one for each 1st
tier school). 100professors in top universities. The number of patent agents is harder to
estimate.
There will be at least three IP lawyers from our college class of 33 people.

Actually 5 years may be more accurate, since largest number of Chinese
students came to US after 90s, and they won't get PhD/JD until 98, that makes
50Another way to estimate is to use the number provided by Xiaohuoguo, 5 in a
club in Boston. Suppose total number in Boston is less than 10, and there are
9 other cities comparable to Boston in this matter in US, that makes 100
Chinese IP lawyers in US. My class will contribute to a 3% increase!?!
