如果先读了PhD，用掉了12个月的OPT，再读完JD之后是不是就不能有OPT了？
所以是不是读完PhD之后应该不用或少用OPT，剩下几个月留到JD之后？留几个月比较好
呢？JD的第三年的I-20到几月份结束呢？

谢谢。再问个问题：把OPT分成两段用有没有什么限制？比如说中间间隔不能超过几年
，或者两个学位之间有什么关系之类的。就怕留这几个月到后来又发现不能用上。另外
，JD之后申请OPT是要拿JD毕业的材料还是原来PhD毕业的材料（感觉第二段OPT还是因
为第一个学位才有的）？

9月吧。反正我们所是9月底。7月底考完bar,8月summer associates才走,first-years
要是7月底就上班岂不是连办公室都没有？

毕业后opt不能拆开用。

不同层的学位opt不能拆开来用。同是master才可以拆开用。PhD不管用没用完opt,JD读
完后都没有opt了。

谢谢各位的回复，但是你们的答案相当误导。之前我专门咨询过学校International
Center负责OPT的人员，得到了可以拆开使用的明确答复。这一次我又写信问了一次，
对方的回答如下。
You won't find anything 'in the regulations' for OPT and J.D vs. PhD degree
level and which might be higher, or anything that addresses your question
directly. This means there isn't an exact answer only opinions. What is in
the regulation is that students receive additional 12 months of OPT
eligibility upon advancement to a higher degree level.

Similar to a questions on OPT for MBA after being used up for MS. One
adviser from international office told me that it's his understanding that
MBA is a "higher" level than MS...hehe

其实这个事情是International Center的人掌握的，是他们负责签发OPT I-20。
