under, biology, top 3 in china master, statistics, top 30 us. two papers in statistics. haven't taken GMAT. how is the possibility of PHD offer in accounting or finance. not care too much about ranking

why you guys pay so much attention on the history. everyone has his/her choice. nothing right or wrong. gain sth, lose sth. I didn't like biology, but statiscs. however, i think it's just a tool and used extensively in accounting and finance. I read some papers which are not hard in terms of data analysis. the most diffcult part is ideas which distingushed a good researcher from others.

It depends on how the school or the state defines residents. It is not necessarily the same as federal income tax definition (it is called resident aliens for tax purpose). Cases I know for certain states: 1) if you work in that state for more than 1 year (OPT, h-1b...), you are qualified as a resident, even if you still need F-1 visa; 2) if your spouse has TA/RA in a public university, you may be qualified as a resident, even if you just arrive; Basically, it all depends. You need to check w
