请教一个问题：
定了回国的往返机票，先到上海，再从上海去北京。但实际上我不想去北京，因为反而
离我家更远了，但订机票的时候这样定便宜。我的问题是，我坐了出发的飞机，但只飞
了一部分，（就是回国去上海的，但不坐上海去北京的），那我返程的机票能用吗？订
票是联在一起定的。

-485批准数据。由于数据量太大，只能一点一点分析。
我们已经在“NIU 数据中心”的网站“NIU 独家数据”栏目中贴出了少量分析结果，包
括：
- 中国自 2005 年以来每年的 I-140 EB1/2/3/EW 批准数量
- 中国自 2005/01 以来每月 EB2 I-485 批准数量
通过我们本次获得的数据，可以分析出任何国家、任何类别 I-140 及 I-485 申请、待
处理、拒绝及撤回案件自 2005 年以来每月的数量。由于 NIU 志愿者精力有限，我们
优先向 NIU 会员提供所需分类结果。如希望成为会员，请与 [email protected]ational.

在.htaccess加入出错页面比较容易，
但是怎样才能自动记录出错的链接？
例如某个网游输入了一个错误的链接，转到404页面的同时，怎样才能把这个错误的链
接也记录下来？
有没有哪位童鞋给点建议？

Hi,
We have a win7 workstation in our work group and by default it doesn't
support concurrent multi-session login. I know there are tweaks to allow
that but our network administrator don't want that. Is there a workaround?

前几天突然被雷，身份都快黑了。一下子乱了方寸,貌似除了回国，就剩下回学校读书
这一条路了。我现在在考虑是不是来德州转行读石油工程，有几个问题想请教班上的前
辈：
1. 读PE的中国学生出路都怎么样呢，工作好找吗？
2. 哪些学校的PE master比较好申请？有奖吗？读书期间找到intern的机会多吗？
3. 申请时候老师看重什么？编程、统计、数学能力？我编程统计都比较弱，地质倒是
有一点基础。因此想找个对编程统计要求不是太高的方向。大家觉得那些方向适合我这
样的背景呢？reservoir engineering怎么样？
4. 读master和phd哪个工作容易找一些呢？如果差的不太多，个人还是倾向master，毕
竟年纪大了，折腾不起。
我之前学的是环境，没有石油的背景。问的问题可能比较弱，大家包涵。layoff来的突
然，没有准备，这两天急寻出路中，朋友说到德州读PE挺好，于是来问问大家。时间紧
迫，希望大家能多提供信息，请大家直言！先谢谢大家！

真的很想今年年底申请IP firm的technical specialist的工作，想请问各位前辈这个
行业受经济危机的影响大吗？
我去年夏天Ph.D.毕业，生物专业，现在博士后中。我现在很后悔没有早作这个方面的
打算，碰上现在赶上经济危机了。
还有，请问如果有LSAT成绩，会对申请technical specialist的职位有帮助吗？谢谢！

The market is very and the near future ain't rosy either. You may refer to

MoFo had lay-offs, Morgan Finnegan is dissolving, Akin Gump may be going
down in IP, etc.
A personal friend told me that, when he applied for tech spec positions in
2002 as a PhD in EE from an Ivy school, he got 2 offers after he took the
LSAT and no offers before the LSAT. He could not get any industrial offers,

You are welcome.
I also meant to say that you should not give up your scientific career yet.
The tide may be turning. As you may have heard, the Obama admin. announced
10 B additional funding for NIH. While this, in itself, is not a long term
solution to the economic and scientific malaise, short-term wise, there
should be more plentiful options for newly minted PhDs.

You are quite right-- it's exciting that Obama admin. is going to give more
money to science; however, without long-term, sustained growth in NIH
budgets, this might not be a good thing. US graduate programs will probably
admit more graduate students this year since they have more money, which
means that the competition for faculty positions and for funding will be
even more brutal in 5-10 years. In fact, given the large number of research
labs in biology department/

Man, I had the same concern. The so-called stimulus plan to bail out
academia is creating a new bubble, or new pit, for all of us.
If all goes according to your prediction, in 5-10 years, IP law may be
glutted as well. Imagine those students graduating in 5-10 years, unable to
find any scientific positions, looking for alternative careers including in
the field of patent law.
Better to attach some strings to the academic bail-out.

为什么呢？请问是什么理由使你觉得律师比其他行业难再找工作？
我感觉律师这行是很要靠知识的积累和经验的，比很多更偏重体力活的专业要好找工作
才对。
不过我是行外人，不了解。希望听到行内人的见解。

现在的market已经很烂了，而且还在继续变烂，IP firm也很差，因为没有其他
practice来弥补。 V10的firm 还没有明目张胆的裁员，但是今天一个在NY 的Insider
说也不远了。这次经济危机比上次严重的多

Firms现在不是hiring,是在抓紧缩小规模，过去几年很多firms扩展的很厉害，都是因
为banking的大bubble，现在这个 bubble恐怕十年之内回不来了，所以firm的size也要
缩小。laid off的律师可以到小一点的所，或者直接到government工作，今后几年SEC,
DOJ等会需要很多律师。外国人就不要想了。
