I think JD is a Professional Doctorate degree, very similar to what MD is.
Hence, higher than Master Degree.

you might not be able to use it. Some law schools put JD in Doctoral level,
some in Master's level. You have to check with the school that you are going
to attend

I don't have a definite answer to that, although I am prone to that JD is
still qualified for another OPT, the best people to clarify this would be
the international student office.

I wouldn't rely solely on others' anecdote. Many schools will sponsor OPT
for masters/Ph.Ds but others may not. Confirm with the ISO on OPT/CPT
guidelines for both your summer jobs and post-completion jobs before
accepting any offer.

I also have this problem and according to my school, it is not possible to
get OPT, because PhD is definitely a degree at the highest level. It is hard
to argue that JD is higher than PhD. In My school, they are both at
doctoral level, I know at some other schools, JD is even lower than PhD,
making the case even harder.
