现在我是H-1b签证，准备跳槽。已经收到offer letter，正在办理h-1b transfer，根
据规定，收到移民局的filing receipt后即可开始工作。
假如filing receipt是在5号收到，新单位的start day 是10号。那么老单位的last
day能是5号吗？如果能的话，我想利用5号到10号这段时间搬到新单位的州去（东西很
多，路途很远）。如果老单位的last day和新单位的first day之间必须衔接，不能有
gap的话，同学们都怎么搬家？多谢！

我跟一个商家有纠纷，准备去我们这里的small claims court 告它，
它在外州，看small claims court 的说明，如果是指consumer purchase, 在
purchase 地file 也可以。
如果我告不下来它，它被court 千里迢迢招来hearing, 飞机钱会不会砸我头上？

主要是看last pay check。而且是新的H1B一寄出，拿邮局收据就可以在新东家干活的
的。所以你5号离开没有任何问题。

Frankly, I don't see why you would be responsible for their air fare or any
travel expenses. If you lose, you
may be responsible for the costs they pay the court, including filing fee,
service fee etc. and maybe, a
prevailing party fee, which is usually a fixed amount below $100. However,
unless (1) you have a fee/cost
agreement with them or (2) the court finds your claim frivolous, I do not
see any reason why you would
need to pay the air fare.
