This role is instrumental in designing and delivering qPCR Consumer &
Business related applications that will help to propel Life Technologies
qPCR products into the internet & mobile space, make Life content accessible
to more devices, integrate with key partners in the cloud, and allow Life
Technologies qPCR services to scale with rapid growth in users.
We are seeking an individual with extraordinary engineering talent who has a
proven track record of developing high performance, high capacity and

Additionally, this position will require the candidate to
§ Provide “hands on” technical leadership of Life’s qPCR web platform
including architectural vision, Design and development of solutions.

solutions which align with organizational strategies and architecture
principles.
§ Create technical designs, specifications, and integration tests.
§ Research and track advancements in online & mobile channels.
§ Develop mobile or web prototypes to validate architecture and design
decisions, validate performance, scalability & security, and thereby
improving the speed to market
§ Research and evaluate vendor solutions, frameworks, evolving
technologies, standards, and understand potential impact on current or
future solutions
Technical Skills:
§ 10 years Java/J2EE industry experience
§ 8 years MVC Framework experience: Struts2, Spring & MVC or similar
§ Strong Web 2.0 experience essential, including use of OO Javascript,
AJAX, DHTML and JS libraries (eg ExtJs /jQuery/DOJO/ etc)
§ HTML 5, CSS, strong understanding of browser compatibility issues.
§ XML, XSL, processing/parsing.
§ Candidate must have strong structured methodology experience
§ Strong J2EE/OO Design patterns experience
§ Experience with implementing common design patterns
§ Web Service design experience: SOAP Request/Response handling,
authentication, Axis2.
§ Use of Unified Modeling Language (UML) to conceive a design
§ Knowledge of web security standards and how to apply them

Primary Job Responsibilities:

databases and fluent in web front end technologies (Rails, HTML, CSS, AJAX,

Basic Qualifications
