Accounting Application Database Analyst
Job Description
The “Accounting Application Database Analyst” position requires a dual set
of skills: (1) strong Accounting knowledge to perform accounting analysis
work and; (2) strong SQL Server programming skills to create, analyze and
design SQL code and database stored procedures.
Accounting Analyst
1. Perform data analysis from 25 different Accounting applications
such as Dynamics GP, QuickBooks, Peachtree, MAS90, NetSuite and Solomon
reviewing period Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, P&L, Inventory, Customer and
Vendor Aging Report data.
2. Utilize the CSC Data Export Tools to breakout Accounting data from
various accounting applications to transfer to a custom data conversion
database for data restructuring and data cleanup.
3. Analyze accounting data to map List Data: Customer, Vendor,
Employee, Inventory, Chart of Accounts data to Data Conversion database. Map
Accounting Transaction data such as Invoices, Bills, Receive Payments,
Deposits, Credit Card Transactions, Checks and Journal Entries to the data
conversion database.
4. Create, edit and update data mapping, data conversion and data
cleanup scripts to format Accounting data into different structures required
for data transferring to other systems.
5. Review, analyze and correct data mapping and data conversion code
from the debit/credit General Ledger transaction distributions to correct
data errors.
6. Run full set of period Financials: Trial Balance Reports; Balance
Sheet Reports; P&L Reports; Inventory Valuation Reports; Customer Aging
Reports and Vendor Aging Reports to spot balance errors to be corrected.
SQL Server Programming
1. Design, develop, test, tune, and implement complex Microsoft SQL Server
2012 and 2014 relational database Stored Procedures, Table Design, Views,
Functions and T-SQL code.
2. Provide database development support to data processing team
3. Produce ad-hoc queries and develop reports to support business needs
4. Unit testing of developed solutions
5. Support database administration as needed
6. Develop design, test, tune and implement complex SQL Server SSIS Packages
for data loading from CSV, XML and Excel raw data files
