有买百年老房子的吗？

看中一个房子，竟然是1896年建的。房子内部都完全装修一新，很是漂亮，而且光线充
足，天花板很高，很气派。。。但外墙可以看到有砖头错开的小裂缝。。。不知道这个
是否很严重？
百年老房子，能买吗？

我们单位欧洲来的喜欢买老房子；很可能100年的房子在他们那里算新的。

I plan to buy one in that age range. Old houses need more maintenance for
sure, but have a lot of characters, especially those brick houses, some look
stunning.

No matter how good they are, I wouldn't consider them. 1. foundation is
field stone, not concrete. 2. potential sinking foundation. 3. there were
bad epidemic period in earlier years. 4. asbestos. etc. etc. My opinion,
could be wrong.

if you don't mind huge utility bills and maintenance cost.

老中买房最不care的就是characters,他们最喜欢中规中矩的，而且越新越好。

是啊，这是我们担心的，那么大的三层楼，特别三楼，很热，计划是不太用了。
如果把三楼加门封上，估计能够节省不少费用。
