never heard of “all-risk broad form” vs. “named peril”, maybe the high
premium is justifiable but still unusual. better shop around
my state farm agent gave me the best deal compared to others, so it's really
case by case

state farm 不错的，我们也用的是他。不过不同的代理人power会不一样，我找好几个
代理人，给的报价个不相同。有power 的代理会给出非常便宜的价格。

“all-risk broad form” means open-peril. Covers all other perils not
covered by standard name-peril policies. Also I know StateFarm's policy is
replacement value based not actual cash value based. That's why it's more
expensive. Try ask for name-peril and ACV coverages, It may reduce your
premium.
State Farm is the largest insurer in the world. It seems you live near
Huston area, which is subject to Hurricane losses. If your policy is open-
peril and it covers HU, your premium is about average.

多打几个电话问问别家吧，因为以前车险是statefarm的，卖房险也问过statefarm,一
年费用几乎跟我同事两倍价钱的房子的保费差不多，我就不甘心的大电话去safeco问了
一下，结果safeco房子+车跟我在statefarm的车保险一样。。。

State Farm的车保险相对比较便宜，但房屋保险贵太多了。
去年我本来想切换到State Farm的，但那个代理给我的房屋保险Quote，即使提高了
Reduction上限，也还是高出我原来的房屋保险很多，于是放弃。

$600是很便宜阿, 我问了几家最便宜也要$1600一年：

是听说state farm 不错，而且我的车保就是state farm, 你是怎么找到不同的代理人
？我是直接在网上request quote，然后收到email里有local代理人名字和电话，而且
一直是同一个人车保也是。

Thanks.
I know Houston in the area under risk of hurricane. My home is in west
houston, not close to the coast line and I couldn't understand why state
farm premium is more than double of rates people living close by are paying
with full coverage.
What 's ACV?

其实，State Farm的车保险仅仅对家有Teenage开车的保险费相对较低而已，如果没有
Teenage开车，它的车保险也不算是便宜，但高出不多。
不过，它家的房屋保险高出太多了。去年，跟StateFarm联系的时候，我即使要加入ADT
计划（至少35刀/月服务费），拿到StateFarm的Security discount之后，再提高
Reductionable 500刀，还是无法跟我原来的home insurance 匹配。

State Farm的车保险相对比较便宜，但房屋保险贵太多了。

不知道LZ的房子为什么这么贵，20几万的房子里，LZ有17万左右的personal property
么？？？
我觉得LZ没找到一个好的agent。
LZ可以多quote几家，然后拿别人的quote去压state farm的价。
我在他家买的车险，很reasonable，而且比我以前在traveler的车险便宜200多/半年。
