Claim了老三样：review, contribution, authorship.
承认了review和authorship， 但质疑了contribution和totality
背景：30+ review；20+ publication， 25+presentation（including 2 invited
talks）； 非常低的citation 60+ （自认为低citation主要有两个原因：领域比较基
础，不够热；超过半数的文章是近一两年刚发的）
REF主要质疑了低citation数
Although the letters of recommendation were well written, it is not
supported by the number of citations submitted into evidence. The lack of an
extensive citation record draws into question the impact of the
contributions.
然后要求补下列材料
To assist in determining whether the beneficiary’s contributions are
original and of major significance in the field, the petitioner may submit:
• Objective documentary evidence of the significance of the
beneficiary’s contribution to the field.
• Documentary evidence that people throughout the field currently
consider the beneficiary’s work important.
• Testimony and/or support letters from experts which discuss the
beneficiary’s contributions of major significance.
• Evidence that the beneficiary’s major significant contribution(s)
has provoked widespread public commentary in the field or has been widely
cited.
• Evidence of the beneficiary’s work being implemented by others.
Possible evidence may include but is not limited to:
o Contracts with companies using the beneficiary’s products;
o Licensed technology being used by others;
o Patents currently being utilized and shown to be significant to
the field.
本人在准备原始材料的时候，已经尽量挖掘其他方面亮点来挽救citation不足的问题，
但还是被火眼金睛的IO给逮了出来。在原来的PL里面，我首先提到所研究的领域是
frontier field， 只有很少的top institutions 和 researchers才有研究；提到了
publications 被24个国家/地区的许多大牛和研究机构引用。 我在PL中用了详细的例
子来描述了我的某些文章如何被其他researchers引用，以及对他们的impact，并有一
封独立推荐信来自引用我文章的人，具体阐述我工作对他的影响。此外，PL提到有三篇
文章都是领域内top 1%-2% cited文章，并在推荐信中用具体的例子来强调了这些工作
的major significance；有几篇review articles和 book chapter 讨论了我的工作，
并有一封独立推荐信来自review article的作者；提到我有两个顶级会议invited
talks，并有推荐信帮助阐述其影响。
本人Citation数目在材料提交的这三个星期里，从60+涨到了70+，但在RFE的短期时间
里估计不太可能有显著增长。 我能想到的就是再找一些引用我文章的人补推荐信，还
有把我的citation 数和faculty average citation， Times Higher Education
average citation比较一下。烦请大家指教还能通过什么方式来弥补低citation以证明
contribution！！！
除此之外， RFE信上还提到需要 Documentation to establish that the beneficiary
will continue to work in their claimed area of expertise.
It must be shown how the beneficiary will continue working in the United
States in the claimed area of expertise. The petition does not indicate that
the beneficiary has prearranged commitments for working in this field. The
statement provided was very general and lacked detail. Please identify your
position at your current employer and the likelihood of continued employment
there. Since your claim is that of being included in the small percentage
at the very top of your field, you should have received some offers of
permanent employment. Please submit copies of these offers. The work must be
in the field in which the beneficiary has garnered sustained national and
international acclaim and that their achievements have been recognized
indicating that they are one of that small percentage who has risen to the
very top of the field. Evidence that may be submitted to satisfy this
requirement includes, but is not limited to:
o Letters from current or prospective employers;
o Employment contract; or
o A statement from the beneficiary detailing plans on how they intend to
continue work in the United States.
我现在是postdoc， 这个合同还有几个月结束。也有industry工作的offer，是R&D的
engineer position，但和现在claim的研究方向不是完全一样。
望大家指点应该怎么回答这一点。
