自己看沙发，看不懂。
买贵的，怕成冤大头；买便宜的，又怕上当。。
看来不能看价格，不能看沙发表明，只能认名牌了。
大家推荐几个名牌沙发的BRAND吧？

and don't take the ranking seriously, every brand has different lines of
products, some are for high-end market, some are for the normal consumers.
the ranking table can not cover everything

I have said so many times
leather: top brand, hancock moore, one level down, bradington young
fabric: taylor king, Jessica charles,
other top brands that make upholstery and wood case furniture: baker,
stickley, kittinger, century

how about Macy's? Not very expensive, but with decent quality.

Macy's sell made-in-china furniture, one level up from junk. good for 5
years or so, and far away from hancock moore in terms quality. an old
saying "you get what you pay for".

in the end, this is really a budget-dependent question; for certain
consumers (actually many), made-in-china furniture is not a bad choice at
all
even I have had the budget (of course I don't), HM is not for my house,
because its old-styled classy look won't fit in

Not all are made in China. There are some made in Italy, etc.

I agree that budget is always an issue for me as well, although I like fine
furniture a lot. I have to wait and wait for enough money to get a piece or
two.
HM is actually presenting more and more pieces in the modern category every
year to expand its customer base. it's sub-company, councill has a lot of
modern looking furniture as well.

也不是ALL MADE IN CHINA ARE BAD，有些质量还可以。

that's true. but the overall trend is when furniture makers move to Asia,
they look for cheaper material and labor (less skilled). the quality is
going down on the general base.

其实没有中国的便宜货，意大利和品牌家具更可以疯狂要价的

这么说吧，买得起的基本都是中国货了，中国货打价格战没有自己的牌子，
就是有，也是老美的牌子中国造的，背后的厂家也各不相同，很便宜的
肯定不会是好货了，除非你的在CLEARANCE买到次品和残品，另外
就是货比三家以免被宰
