买房请律师,交易过程中出不同的情况buyer是不是还要pay额外fee
例如:到closing date, seller还没有解决好open permit or certificate of
occupancy violations的问题,律师处理这问题, buyer要给律师额外的钱?普通都这
样吗?

normally you pay a lump-sum fee, covering anything and everything
if you pay by hour it's another story

首先谢谢你的回复
因为我们买的房子有一个certificate of occupancy violations的问题,需要在
closing时解决,律师就给我发了一个RETAINER AGREEMENT,说to pay a fee of $250.
00 per hour for additional legal services rendered
during your transaction.
我就不明白这个问题还要pay by hour, 这种事普遍吗

找的时候就需要问是否是flat收费,有些华人律师是flat收费的,不管中间出不出其他
问题。

这个律师说这些情况都要另收费 old mortgages still of record, any judgments
filed against the property or yourself, tax liens, tax warrants, building
department violations, certificate of occupancy violations or open permits,
sidewalk liens or violations, survey ordering, appraisal issues, fence or
boundary line issues and any other encumbrance against the home which the
title company needs cleared up prior to closing of the home. 还有a dispute
regarding the contract arises during your transaction or any type of escrow
needs to be held or excessive calls/emails arise during a transaction 也要收费
其他律师这个收费吗?我现在在贷款阶段,还没有和这个律师签RETAINER AGREEMENT,
我能换律师吗?
