背景：

Conference abstracts: 10+ including regional ones
Reviews: 10，editor for 2 non SCI-indexed journals; review一半上学时找老板要
的，杂志还可以；另一半是editorial duty
Citation: Google Scholar 240+, 主要是本科的和博士前两年的，不过最近涨得也比
较快，从file 140到今天涨了十几个。
Reference Letters: 4独立，1 China,2 US，1 HK 都是引过paper的熟人
过程：
毕业找了给fellowship的博后，但是不许用OPT extension也不给H1B，只给转J1，而我
OPT毕业前就用了小半年了，亟需EAD所以就准备申绿卡。问了板上几家律师，最后选了
V. Chen。整个过程沟通什么的都很顺利，主要就是写了个research summary，后面都
是律师负责的。其实博后比上学时闲很多，不过我实在太懒了，第一遍research
summary写得太少了被要求扩充，所以我还是比较佩服板上工作很忙且DIY成功的人，真
是很不容易。
对我来说找推荐人是耗时最长、最麻烦的环节，主要是最早问了两个以前没接触的PI，
开始答应得很痛快后来杳无音信了。可能这是比较个例的情况，不过还是建议大家有打
算的可以提早联系并确定推荐人。
从板上学了很多东西，没有什么可以回报的，祝大家申请顺利，早日拿到绿卡吧。

Brazil's Petrobras Confirms Quality Oil Find At Iara Presalt Field

RIO DE JANEIRO (Dow Jones)--Brazilian state-controlled oil and gas producer
Petroleo Brasileiro SA (PBR, PETR4.BR), or Petrobras, confirmed Tuesday that
it discovered good-quality oil at a presalt well in the Iara area of Santos
Basin, southeast Brazil.
Petrobras said it concluded drilling at the exploratory well in the 3-BRSA-
891A-RJS area, 230 kilometers from the coast of Rio de Janeiro state, where
it discovered good-quality oil of 28 degrees, according to American
Petroleum Institute standards. The drill results also reinforce the
recoverable potential of light oil and natural gas from the site at 3
billion to 4 billion barrels of oil equivalent, the company said in a
statement.
The well drilled is informally known as Iara Horst, Petrobras said.
Iara is located in the BM-S-11 oil block, where the giant Cernambi field and
the giant Lula field were recently declared commercial viable, Petrobras
said.
Brazil's massive presalt oil and gas fields are located beneath at least two
kilometers of water in the Atlantic Ocean bed.
Further tests are proceeding at Iara to establish the productivity of the
well, Petrobras said. The consortium that holds the rights at the site is
operated by Petrobras, with a 65% share, BG Group with 25% and Galp Energia
with 10%.
