I have no experience with irobot. I just bought a neato botvac 70e for my sister. it is a new-generation product from neato, but works similarly to the old models. with my one-hour test-drive at my place, it worked generally ok - it was intelligent enough to select a non-overlapping route; it was a bit loud, but with decent cleaning power. surely it is no where near my central vac, but for automatic cleaning, I guess it is ok. one complain I had was that it was not aware of its height when deciding to go underneath the furniture. one of my sectional sofas has a opening almost exactly the height of the vac, it attempted to move under, but one of the buttons got pressed, and it stopped. if you do not have furniture with such an awkward spacing, then it should work fine. if you do, try to place a magnetic strip so the neato won't go across.
