一步到位吧，costco的Profinder 5000只要$35
据说和amazon的那个ProSensor 710用的同一种sensor($49.95):
俺也有magnetic finder，当时图便宜买的。以后估计再不会用了。

magnetic 只对一块块钉上去的drywall 好使，其实是非常好使，除非挂drywall 的没
钉到stud 上，但几率比较小，通不过inspection 的。
magnetic 对老式的plaster wall 是无效的。

这东西原理是什么？怎么知道后面是stud不只是dry wall?不是xray 那么高级的东西吧？

具体不是太清楚。不知道是不是这个wiki里说的Internal capacitor stud finders：

这玩意儿不但可以找到stud在哪儿，还可以告诉你stud有多宽，相当准。

It's hit and miss in store. I went there several times but cannot find it.
One day, there were a box of them on shelf. grabbed one immediately.
Works great and you also know how wide the stud is.

任何stud finder都不好用，包括Costco那个三十五美元的，我有一个，鸡肋。stud
finder测得是密度。如果挂窗帘，是外墙，中间有insulation，那么任何一个stud
finder都会抓瞎。如果要买，那个磁铁的应该是最靠谱的。最准的方法是用手敲，耳朵
听，外加小钉子试。
