终止当天就失效吧。
重新申请没名额问题。
不能申失业保险。好像至少要递交485以后。

不能申失业保险。好像至少要递交485以后。

H1B 从2008至2011,去年(2011)extend 一次(2011 至2014).
谁知今年却被裁了。。。
公司把offcial termination date 放在一个月后，给我一些时间packing或找工。
现在应该马上换身份呢？还是继续找工？
担心如果换了身份，万一找到工， 又要重新申请H1B会比transfer H1B 更费时? 因为

应该可以。可以咨询WIC确认。关于是否影响绿卡，WIC 是给孩子的，而485问得是你本人。再者，资助一般指得是长期的。WIC应该不算。

现在工作不好找, 但也别着急,配偶如果可以依靠, 赶快转吧. 我那口子三年没工作,

1， 赶紧在official termination date之前转身份，无论是B1/B2还是F1/F2/H4。 有
的可以online efile, 当天申请当时就可以收到receipt, 申请pending期间都可以合法

公司的意思可能是在下个月“official termination date”之前都不会revoke你的H1B
不过正如有人指出的
将来你重新申请H1B时需要你最后一段时间的Paycheck
所以这段“GAP”时间长了对你将来转身份可能有麻烦
这也正是俺之前建议的尽早转合法身份的原因

还是任何其他身份-> H1B 都需要重新申请H1B
对公司来说是完全一样的
而你的H1B名额已经占过
无论是什么身份再申请H1B都不需要再占新名额
也不用等到10月1号生效

不赞同熬一两个月再转身份的做法，因为能不能再这段时间内找到工作很难说，如果没
有，那就很被动了。
3年前，我们家也有类似的经历。ld 被裁，给了两个月薪水的package。我当时是学生
， 我们是拿到通知的第二天就去了我学校的international center， 要求他们为领导
准备i-20。现在看来这样做是对的，因为后来ld 找了一年多才找到新的工作。那段日
子过的很不容易。
同时埋头找工作。
不赞同熬一两个月再转身份的做法，因为能不能再这段时间内找到工作很难说，如果没
有，那就很被动了。

， 我们是拿到通知的第二天就去了我学校的international center， 要求他们为领导

不要转 B2.
可以转 F1, F2, H4, 或找工作transfer H1.
如果你家LD是F1 或H1, 建议你马上转F2/H4. 只要转身份申请在H1截止日递上去就行，
pending 期间你都是合法的。

thanks for all the replies, I just got back from a few onsite interviews,
not much luck.
one company interviewed me but they needed to interview other people that do
not need sponsorship as well before they can hire me. Unfortunately, they
found one candidate that suits the position, so they did not offer me the
job.
Another company interviewed me, I thought everything went very well, but
they did not take me either.
We don't have insurance anymore, so thinking to get medicaid for my baby.
Thank you everyone.

Medicaid and WIC 不会影响绿卡，我申请过。但是失业金不能申请，我猜也申请不到
吧，我们没有申请过失业金。很理解你的处境，我们也是刚出生的孩子没有收入了，很
幸运1个多月工作就找到，比原来工资还高，保险比原来也好。要积极的找。我相信婴
儿能带来好运。
