老婆是催产的，儿子出来后有点缺氧，在抢救中心呆了几天，现在总账单是7万多，自
己要付8000多，但公司的保险好像MAXIUM OUT OF PORCKET 只有4000块，不知道这个
8000多是怎么算出来的，是否应该向保险公司问问清楚？
有经验的朋友请分享一下，多谢。

out of pocket should apply to the whole family, wrong?

no
it is applied to per person that insured...
your wife 4k deductible, your child 4k deductible
so it is correct

我的公司保险是这样的：3000块的DEDUCTABLE，其中有1750是只要付保险费就有的钱，
超过3000块后，是4000的OUT OF POCKET MAXIUM FOR FAMILY，MATERNITY 费用是自己
出10%。现在我自己要付的是8000块，但看了下，4000的MAXIUM居然还没满，我本来
以为自己最多要出的钱是：
3000-1750+4000=5250，结果现在是8000，应该是哪里搞错了吧？

Interesting, do you have United Health? I have exactly the same policy, 3000
deductable and 4000 out of pocket with 10% maternity...But I don't
understand the 1750 part, but regardless, shouldn't max.out of pocket be
7000 or less??? Call your insurance.
BTW, are you paying back to your insurance or pay to the individual health
providers?

yes, I have united health. The 1750 is the amount that the corporation put
in the 3000 deductable bucket to give you some benefit. When fee comes in,
the 1750 will be used first, then you need to pay for the rest 1250 for 100%
before any insurance can take part in. I believe the maxium out of pocket
should be 4000+3000=7000, and the real money out should be 7000-1750.
I got several bills in now and it seems that I need to pay different
provider respectively.

你这个3000是per person还是family？孩子和妈妈的decuctable是要单算的。
明天先给保险公司打电话吧

我也是United Health的，孩子和妈妈肯定是单算的。你仔细看看他发给你的明细,我这
两天也在研究。
不过，我的out of pocket家庭combine MAX.是4500。每个人是2250.
我生老大就花了250（公司以前的plan)，现在生老二的费用简直太多了。

我了解的情况是有些项目是applicable to deductible的，有些项目则不是。

首先我理解楼主说的3000和4000都是FAMILY的deductable和out of pocket MAX对吧？
根据我对United Health的经验，我觉得楼主的case里面是不是有些bill被他们认为是
out of network的了呢？如果是这样的话，这些out of network的bill可能不计算在你
的out of pocket里面，而且自己的copay可能也不只10%。
建议楼主自己好好看看policy，打电话问清楚了。

3000和4000 当然都是FAMILY的数目，孩子和妈妈不会分开算的。我先打电话问下吧。
