* The recommendations to exclude potentially allergenic food from maternal
diet during pregnancy/lactation, and to delay their introduction into the
infant's diet has been questioned. There does not seem to be enough
evidence that the above measures can reduce childhood food allergies.
* There may be a link between other contact with food allergens (e.g. peanut
oil in skin ointments) and later development of food allergies.
* Systematic, gradual introduction of allergenic food proteins may reduce an
allergic person's immune response. One such project is underway at Jaffe
Food Allergy Institute @ Mount Sinai.
