我之前经历了一家特别恶心的公司，当年用不正当手段使我离职。我之后重新找工作，
但是人家做background check的时候，他说我 not eligible for rehire，结果我失掉
了工作机会。我们之前是有合约的，也就是他之后评论我的工作时间及职位，其他一概
不会说，但是他现在等于breach agreement了。更可气的是，我失掉工作机会的公司又
不给我出具他们说 not eligible for rehire 的证明，导致我现在没办法告我以前的
雇主。
我现在还在找工作，之后还会面临background check的问题，恳请大家帮我想想怎样对
付这种恶心的美国老板。

情况有些曲折，大概是这样的：
最早只有一个winXP，后来又装了个win7组成winXP & win7 dual boot系统。最近把
winXP分区（硬盘的第一个分区）格式化后装上了Ubuntu 11.10。可是Grub2 boot menu
里面没有win7的条目。我尝试了多种恢复方法，比如用win7安装盘进入recovery选项，
然后用bootrec命令，结果都不行。
怎么做才能修复win7 bootloader呢？

What kind of background check do they do? Usually they don't call for your
former boss unless you provide the phone number, right? I thought as long as
your former company (HR, or admin) can verify your working history, that
will be fine.

"Conversely you can install a retail version of Windows (but not an OEM or
recovery version) after Ubuntu by creating a primary NTFS partition using
GParted. (You may have to use GPparted from a Live CD/USB). Once the primary
NTFS partition is created you can boot your Windows CD/DVD and choose to
install Windows to that NTFS partition. When installation is complete,
reboot to insure Windows boots properly. Once that is ascertained, use the
Ubuntu Live CD/USB to install GRUB back to the MBR. (This is necessary
because Windows overwrites the MBR and designates its own bootloader as the
master bootloader.) Once GRUB is installed you will be able to boot either
OS. "

就是正常的入职background check,问would you rehire the person，他们应该说no
comment，但是他们说我not eligible for rehire。我原来这家公司非常小，现在一共
就5个人，hr就是老板的人，那还不让说什么就随便说什么。
background check不是都要打电话的吗？否则他们怎么verify呢？还请教，谢谢！

其实用 windows bootloader 启动 linux 更好
启动菜单还好看点

OK now I understand your situation better.
I think, if someone is really keen into those sort of background checking,
or believe in whatever your former company representative said, he/she is
not a worthy one as your future employer.
Seriously, not all the companies (organizations) will do this. Find someone
who is nicer :-)

估计不用重装windows，仔细看了一下你描述的问题，你只要在ubuntu terminal里用
sudo update-grub 然后ubuntu应该就能发现你另一个分区上的windows，然后自动把
windows启动加入启动菜单。

Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-3.0.0-15-generic
Found initrd image: /boot/initrd.img-3.0.0-15-generic

Found memtest86+ image: /boot/memtest86+.bin
还是没有看到win7呢。一般在空白硬盘上面安装win7都会自动生成100MB的system
reserve分区，但是因为我是在已经有winxp的基础上再装了个win7，所以没有那么分区
。我感觉是win7的bootloader坏掉呢，问题是现在怎么修复呢？

不太明白，但是我现在就2个主分区，一个ubuntu还有一个是win7
我的笔记本现在就是ubuntu & win7爽系统，和desktop的差别是，我在笔记本上面先装
win7，再装ubuntu，两个系统都很和谐。

win7有独立的boot分区，你要带D盘，那就再多一个主分区，一个硬盘只能支持4个主分
区，你数数现在有多少了？这就是linux为什么要lvm的原因，因为这个原因你要先装
windows,再装linux,如果你装完linux后再装或者加装windows,MBR就坏了，这个维修非
常困难，为什么？因为现在修MBR的工具都比较落后，对LVM的支持有限，软件一读发现
你的物理容量比硬盘的最大容量还大。
现在明白了么？ linux is a shit, except you know how to play shit
