The Economist Senior forecasts, analyzes and documents economic conditions
affecting industry and/or business groups of an organization.
Performs complex modeling including statistics, decision trees, econometrics
and calculations.
Extracts data from literature and primary sources to prepare and present to
management.
Uses skills as an independent, seasoned, experienced professional with a
full understanding of industry practices and established policies and
procedures.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities Assemble and review data.
Conduct statistical analyses and complete studies of real estate and
mortgage related data.
Prepare and maintain programs and documentation for asset and asset risk
models.
Monitor and re-engineer current models and their prototypes as needed to
improve and enhance core models and group research objectives.
Lead and manage quantitative and qualitative research projects independently
. Assess and communicate research results to internal and external
stakeholders.
Education Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related
field
preferred Experience Four to eight years of directly related experience
Knowledge/Skills Detail oriented Able to manage multiple, complex projects
simultaneously Communicate ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing
Strong PC skills Strong presentation skills Understanding of relational
database principles and experience developing SOL scripts a plus Proficient
with statistical software such as SAS or SPSS
