Based on Google Finance, LYG paid $1.43/Share dividend on Dec 11 and and $1. 43/share on Nov 25. Any idea what was going on. It does not make any sense to me for a $6.00 stocks to pay $2.86 in less than 1 month.

LYG share holders reall got the dividend as a friend told me. Well, if LYG keeps paying such dividend, where is the money coming from? It sounds too good to be true to me.

No, that's not dividend, but rump payment or rights payment for shareholders who did not subscribe to the new share sale. The effect is the same as dividend in that LYG share price went down from 5.12 to 3.7 on post rump day of Dec. 14. It won't happen again, and long term Lloyds will shine and return to probably $4.5, which is equivalent to the pre-HBOS merger price of $40 a share.

Thanks. I saw EPS = $2.89 P/E = 1.29. If these numbers are true, LYG makes tons of money but why stock price is so low?
