mistletoe，不知道你说的第一个字母是h是为什么。但是很确定这是槲寄生。圣诞经典
装饰，可以做花环。站在吊在天花板上的槲寄生下面的男女要kiss。

Because at that time, the teacher was teaching the words which are beginning
with letter "h".
It sounds like hoes.
But I looked it up in the dictionary, couldn't find any similar word which
has such meaning.
The teacher let the kids look at the corner of the rug, then the kids knew
what the word was.
But I don't know yet.:-(

这么常见的东西也能搞出这么多问题。
你说的那个mistletoe是风马牛不相及，结的果子是白的根本不是红的。
