A few things:
1) the negotiation usually works when two sides work towards the middle. So
if 7k below is truly what you were after, the conventional method calls for
you start w/ something even lower, say 10k below, and then work towards the
7k goal.
2) having said that, it's you who's buying the house, so at the end of the
day, only you and you only have the final say on the number.
3) for the agents, you have to understand it's in their self-interest to see
the offer go through, not necessarily at the best price for you.
4) my opinion is that the agent is unprofessional (is she chinese?). I
would've fired her ass on the spot, or at the very minimum, put her back
into her place should she ever say something similar to me.
4) whether it's 2k or 20k is besides the issue -it's about fair deal and
negotiation. For all those bitching about LZ being cheap, I highly doubt
you do what you preach. LZ should ignore their comments as you do w/ the
agent comment.
