=Position Overview=
A startup company based in Beijing is recruiting talented engineers to
join its core team, in connection with the development of two systems
for querying big data.
One system is a highly-scalable SQL query engine to query big relations
with bounded resources. The other is a graph query engine based on a new
parallel computation model, to support plug and play of sequential graph
algorithms. The systems have completed their POC phase, and are verified
to outperform the state-of-the-art systems by orders of magnitude.
The core team is responsible for building the core components for the
systems. This includes developing in-memory and on-disk data structures and
algorithms, row and columnar stores, networking, query optimization, and
execution. The company provides the unique benefit of building systems
software in a
rapid production environment with a small and collaborative team.
=Required Skills and Experience=
SQL engine:
- BS college degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science.
- At least two years of experience developing and debugging in system
level C/C++, particularly on Linux.
- At least two years of experience with file systems, concurrency,
multithreading, and server architectures.
- Experience of working on database internals, data warehouse
development and optimization, or multi-threaded server internals.
Graph engine:
- BS college degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science.
- At least two years of experience developing in C/C++, particularly on
Linux.
- At least two years of experience with distributed systems,
multithreading, and server architectures.
- Experience with graph systems and algorithms.
